The Team

Kettering University Formula Zero Team was created in 2009 under the direction of Dr. Joel Berry. Team RainMaker’s purpose is to design and create a fuel cell powered go kart to compete internationally in 2011 at Formula Zero racing competitions.
The team is broken down into various sections including electrical, power train, fuel cell, and controls divisions. Each division is responsible for their own specialty, while still maintaining a multi-disciplinary outlook and keeping team unity at the forefront.
Our Facility
Kettering has one of the most advanced fuel cell labs in the nation and is a key ingredient to the team’s success.
At Kettering University, the Center for Fuel Cell Systems & Powertrain Integration is poised to take the lead in preparing the current and future workforce for the fuel cell economy. Both mobile and consumer applications powered with fuel cells will ensure a 21st century that offers clean and sustainable energy for generations to come.
